We can still be American here

Don't you worry!

I find it hilarious that we go to McDonalds more than we did in the States ( shush you. That doesnt include my drive through frappe addiction) . I have good reasons though:

A) I know how to get to (2) McDonalss and back without getting lost. Actually, we did get lost the first time on the way home, but thats another post.

B) these McDonalds are within guarded and gated parking lots. Sure, bad people could pay to enter like anyone else I suppose, but a tiny bit less likely.

C) it is the rainy season here in Mexico City. It is supposed to be summer!! And the girls are supposed to play and have fun... But with all the parks soaked from daily or nightly rains , their play options are diminished. Boooo

So without further ado...

(and PS I hope a certain someone back home recognizes that mmm more than half of these outfits were gifts from her LOL)

PPS the picture with my older toddler climbing up a pink slide with a black blon in front of her (further up the slide) ... Thats my 14 month old, leading her the wrong way up a slide. The child has no fear.

  1. PPSS. Let the record show my 14 month old is eating apple dippers out of a french fry box. She doesnt know the difference. Is that mean to trick her like that? Probably. But Im not sharing my french fries, no matter how cute she is. ;)

  4. One of the things I love about living in a big Mexican city is that there are so many U.S. franchises! Some people are against them, but I'm thankful that they're here!

    1. I think all things are good in moderation - who cam say they dont like subway like your oldest? ;) as long as there are plenty of small business still open (which there are thousands /millions in DF I swear!) I think franchises are still fine!

  5. I about died of happiness when we entered Tampico and I saw Papa John's and Dairy Queen!! We ate at both within a few days of being there! I have to go to the Mcdonald's in Tampico to see if they have the McCafe, they didn't have it in my area of Monterrey.

    1. Stephanie - omg! Dairy Queen! Did they have the choc dipped cones? That was my fav there.

One of "our" mcdonalds has the mcCafe, but the other doesnt have it (sadly, for my frappe addiction, luckily for my waistline!) LOL.

  7. Hey, you gotta run some energy off somewhere! If it's too rainy, cold, hot, etc to play outside, might as well take advantage of a nice climate controlled ball pit!

  8. You are so pretty and your girls adorable! I remember when we visited Mexico and went to see his cousins in the city. We passed a McDonalds and I actually felt like a little piece of home was here with me in Mexico. Crazy right?
