Ixmiquilpan , Hidalgo MX

We just returned from a short two day trip to a fun water resort and hotel! In the town of Ixquimilpan they have an abundant supply of thermal spring water, and capitalize on it by building water parks using the water.

It is a beautiful town, and Hidalgo is suprisingly green right now. The pictures dont do justice to the mountain views.

And just a short two hours from us, we may have to go back! The internet priced the hotel at 1200 pesos a night.. Since we went on a week night the gave us the first night for 550 pesos and the second night for 405 pesos! For a room with two rooms (each with a queen sized bed and their own balcony) a living room with cable TV (not that anyone needs that when you could go swim!) and wifi, and a jacuzzi bath! And it included admission to their water park (which is usually 80 pesos per day per person).

Highly recommended! Dios Padre Water Park and Hotel in Ixquimilpan , Hidalgo.

Their downtown is very charming, had the most delicious meal at a steakhouse type place. Will look for the name pf the restaurant and post it.

This is a town I would love to show any family and friends that come to visit (depending on time of year and weather of course!)!

  2. I'm so glad to see your pictures. I can't believe how big the girls are. And it looks like they had a blast in the water. Whenever we can get to Mexico, it would be awesome to see it. I have always thought it would be great to live in a place where you can just look up and see mountains, like there or Denver, for example... did you have to drive over the mountains to get there? Tom and I just spent 10 days in 100 plus degrees at boy scout camp - it's great to be back in the AC!!!!!

    1. Maggie, where we live is also in the mountains, or in the middle of a bunch of mountains. To get there we drove around some nice curvy roads rheough a whole bunch of mountains... Very pretty view to whole way!

Not at all the desert like Mexico they show in movies. So lush and green! We will def take you all there when you get a chance to come down!!

I agree, the prices were so suprising! Nicest hotel we have stayed in , in all of Mexico (there are nicer Im sure, that we cant afford! Lol like in Cancun for example!)

  6. WOW! How fun! How did you find out about it? I'm not up on finding out things in close proximity to where we live. But, that does look like a great time! And, of course, the girls are so cute. I looked through your pics on Flickr. And, you can't beat the price you paid! We had been settling for a baby pool on the back patio.
