Visiting Museo del Nino - Papalote

We had fun today! Mexico Citys version of Kaleidoscope/Wonderscope , the kid play-learning-exploring type-museums was great for the girls.

Definately recommended if you ever visit Mexico City and have children! Located in the Chapultepec Forest and near Polanco.

My real camera died three photos into our day, whoops! Good thing I had the IPad for backup!

  1. OH! It does look so great! This post is a reason I miss living in a city. This small town of ours has nothing. And, driving the girls a few hours, one way, in the car is not ideal. Oh well! We have a trip planned to the States in October. We will hit up a bunch of fun stuff then.

Looks like your girls had a great time!

    1. Valare, when we have our house built and ready for visitors, you guys are more than welcome to make a trip up to mexico city and we can hit up all sorts of fun stuff! We should have two extra guest rooms, and an extra bathroom (small but habitable! ) .

Yeah, living heree in Mexico City isnt too much different fromm teh states in that if we want to do something or find something that we did back home we can pretty easy.

    3. Iay ay ay ..... This subject haunts me! We STILL havent started, but will let the WORLD know when we do. Love love love the inlaws, but the girls (and I) need our space! Having two young lids is a different kind of house than my inlaws prefer to have . ;)

  2. And here in GDL, we have our version of "EL Museo Del NiƱo-Papalote" and it's called "El Trompo Magico." I think they're great places and children really enjoy them! :)

  3. And how much does it cost to get in. I live in Tetela Del Volcan, which is close to Mexico City and I would love to take my girls there sometime. Thank you! Jill Chavez

    1. Here is the website with prices and hours

      www.papalote.mex.org/horarios-y-precios/

The museum alone is 120 pesos, but there is also an IMax theater And digitaldome ( not sire what the dome is) . If you want to visit those things as well, the prices are different. To g into the whole thing is 175 pesos it says on the website. We hardly got through the whole museum, it would depend on the age of your kids on which package you want to buy.

      Go! Its fun!

  5. Oh goodness this looks so fun! The girls will definitely have to take their cousin A when we come to visit! How long did it take you to get there from your house? We have a " hands-on" museum about an hour away but A doesn't do well enough in the car for it to be worth it. When he gets older I'd love to have a membership.

    1. Well, as with all things Mexico City it varies... "sin traffico" was only about 20 minutes. On the way back "con traffico" it was almost an hour!!

Yay for traffic (rolling eyes!) buuuttt with all of us in the car together, at least we can sing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" in perfect harmony to keep the kids amused ;) we would llooooovvveeeee to take our favorite cousin/nephew some day.
